Hey i'm just saying what the age command says. Obviously the 2 months is inaccurate.
Don't point the finger buddy.

756 logged hours in three months - but it could have been more ^^
studies, working on the baltic sea for some weeks to be able to continue studying - i was playing insanely much in the first month... 2nd was dedicated to university... and 3rd had to be shared with my work...
what can i say? i love tyria ^^

the crazy times were during beta: you knew you only have this one weekend, then you have to wait another month - so go and use that time...
the whole weekend (friday 9am -> monday 9am) was reserved for tyria: buying enough food and drinks for hte days, 4 hours of sleep between saturday and sunday to be able to make it till monday morning... and a short break after 36hours of playing to relax the wrists.

now that was powerplaying

Ofcourse GW isnt that type of game where you can LIVE a virtual life, but its good fun nevertheless. And its the individual's own opinion about how he lives his life that matters

The time I posted was basically full on GW. I don't sit and afk in-game. If I'm logged in then I'm doing something - whether it be doing a mission, quest, exploring, etc. I could easily enough afk for hours on end, but I see no point in that - I admit I do alt-tab out of the game now and again, but generlaly if I'm going to browse sites and such I'll log out.

But I do agree that looking at pure hours logged on doesn't lead to great comparison - because how many of those hours was just afk'ing while they went and didn't something else? Like for me, my hours aren't that high.. but thats because I don't afk in the game (apart from coffee and/or loo breaks... heh).

Maybe make a suggestion in the suggestions board to expand on the /age command? I doubt it'll be high on any priority list.. but if enough people show and interest or the idea is presented well enough, then maybe someday down the future it will get implemented. They have already expanded the /age command to show both complete hours played and hours played on that particular character...

But otherwise, its just pointless forum spam.
*shrugs* Some might see it that way, some might see it as a fun way to share the amount of time they have spent logged into GW. But since I'm not a board Mod.. I couldn't say whether this thread is just pointless spam... but personsally I've been interested in seeing how many hours other people have been logged on..

Now just wish I could see how much time was spent doing different things (like doing missions, exploring, afk, etc)...

And yes, my request not to have it posted is just as valid as you posting. I can't stop you and nor can you stop me. It's merely a request to attempt to appeal to peoples sense of intelligence to 'raise the bar' of what actually is posted and discussed in these forums...versus the normal drivel you can see posted on TGH for example.
All I will say is - people view different things differently as you quite rightly appear to realize. Just because you view something as aweful drivel doesn't mean that other people view it as aweful drivel. Two sides to every coin.

I respect your view and I can understand where you are comming from, but on the same token I'd ask that you respect my view and understand where I am comming from as well. In the end, if these things are deemed drivel then I will respect that decision.

BTW, whats "TGH"? I guess I demonstrate some ignorance here, so please do forgive me and I hope you'll answer me on this

I still dont think playing games will get you anywhere in life execpt your moms basement working at Dairy queen for minium wage, no education, no future, and no retirement. I have seen it alot. Just trying to get people to understand games are fun, but thats all they are. Unless your learn to make them, produce them and maintain them, they are worthless in the long run and do nothing but kill time. Guild wars is a great game, I love it, but if you really believe 700 hours in three months (thats 8 hours a day EVERY DAY!) is a good thing to be doing ANYTHING you need to really re-evaluate you priorities.

when it's all over...you and I and everyone else here ends up in the same place...life IS wasting time. Who are you to be ostentatious enough to presume to understand the meaning or purpose of life so completely that you can tell others what they "should" be doing. When you're 90 years old and on your death bed....nobodies gonna give a rats ass what you accomplished in life.

675 hours in the past 2 months....but I leave guild wars running 24/7(computers use about 150-watts of electricity...that's about the equivelant of leaving two lights on.)

I'm 14 years old and it's sumer...I can't be doing something every time of the day, so when I am at home alone, and my parents are at work this is all I have to do, it doesn't mean that I have no life or I am wasting it, I enjoy doing this, and it is not a waste for me.

It's going to be some factor of X hours < hours since release. Big deal. You might as well ask how many faction points do you have. Or XP. It doesnt really mean anything other than saying "I play a ton...I play a lot...I play somewhat...I don't play that often".

And the net result means...nothing. It's not even interesting if you understand my statement above.

Oh, speaking of which, I play somewhat/a lot. Because some of you care? *sigh*

P.S. If you think I'm wrong, go back and look at old discussios of game elements, skills, farming. Then go and find an old thread about 'how long have you played'. What you'll find is that the old 'hlhyp' thread means nothing now. It's already out of context due to it being relative to the posting date. And even that isn't 'interesting'.

Oh. If I'm wrong, please try to tell me in the most insulting manner you can. At least the flames might make for some interesting reading in here.

Cheers.
-/flamebait post *eyeroll*

800 or so hours, form actual playtime, as I am my own boss and have the time.

P.S. - Use your signet of capture on a spellchecker

lol, I agree this is totally pointless, but it's fun anyway...

I have around 400 hours in 3 months, I have a girlfriend, I just graduated from Highschool, I'm working full time, and I'm getting ready to go to college, so how much more of a life can I have?

Suckers!!!

Truthfully? About 1/5 of the time is afk. I was really hard core into playing PvE GW for a while. Tho in the last two weeks I havent been playing as much. Not nearly as much. I played, played, played, played, played, played, played, played, played, played & then just kinda suddenly stopped playing as much.

Have to throw this in.... recent studies show that there's greater risk of dying from not getting sunlight (natural vitamin D production) than there is the increased risk of skin cancer.

Sun > no sun.

So go tan for an hour, then play some more.
